Hi — I'm Joseph, and I built this
because I believe the watch modding community deserves better tools.
My watch "addiction," as some may call it, began during my junior
year at the United States Military Academy. My best friend and
roommate, Jacob, had recently picked up a Seiko Chronograph with
a quartz movement. While browsing our local mall together, he
spotted a deep blue Bulova Chronograph — and I instantly fell in
love. Being a good friend, of course, I couldn't get the same
watch as him. But soon enough I laid eyes on what would become my
prized possession and my first real watch: a
Seiko Presage GMT.
My pride and joy. I guess you could say Jacob got me hooked. Since
then, I've added a Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 with automatic
movement to the collection — and I have no plans to stop.
I built this tool after attempting to build my first watch. I knew
I needed to spread the watch love, so I decided: what better way
than to make a fully custom watch for my fiancée? However, even
with the help of my seasoned watchmaking veteran Jacob, it was
incredibly difficult to find where to buy parts — and even harder
to know if they were actually compatible. It drove me to the point
where I asked myself: there has to be a better way, right?
I wished for two things. First, that a site would link directly to
parts that exist and show you how to find what you need. And
second, that there was a way to visualize how a watch would look
as you chose the parts — so none of us waste time and money on
components that don't meet our standards.
I also wanted to know who wore my dream watches, and a little
history behind them. I mean — who doesn't love reading about
something they're passionate about?
My vision for this project is to create a place where everyone —
from first-time modders to seasoned builders — can start or
continue their journey with more ease than ever before. I want
this to be something the community genuinely enjoys using. If you
have feedback, ideas, or just want to talk watches, feel free to
